We know as well as anyone that your smile is one of the most noticeable and memorable features of your face. That is why the whole team at the practice work hard to provide you and other patients with the very best dental care. Here is a bit more information about our fantastic team.
Professional Registration
The General Dental Council (GDC) is the regulatory body of the dental profession in the United Kingdom. All our clinical staff are registered with the GDC and adhere to the regulations governing the profession as set out in their publication "Standards for the Dental Team".  - Stuart Banks

Stuart graduated from Leeds University Dental School and spent time working in Yorkshire before moving to Edinburgh. Stuart joined the practice in 2009 and became Practice Principal in 2011.
Stuart's aim is to help you understand your mouth, help you to maintain healthy teeth and gums and most of all enjoy your smile. Stuart is an Invisalign provider and enjoys helping patients achieve their dream smiles. Stuart is a Dental Practice Inspector with Lothian Healthboard. He continues to have the same clinical time in practice alongside this new role.
Outside of work Stuart enjoys playing golf and getting out and about in the fresh air with his young children.

 - Michaela Laverty

Michaela graduated from the University of Dundee in 2015. She spent a few years working in the north of Scotland, before taking some time overseas to travel and practice dentistry in New Zealand. She returned to Scotland and is happily settled in Edinburgh.
Michaela joined the practice in 2021, and strives to make patients feel comfortable and at ease while delivering high quality dentistry. Michaela brings with her a facial aesthetics qualification so if you are thinking about anti wrinkle injections then please chat to her or her treatment co-ordinator, Vicki.
Outside of work she is a keen traveller, enjoying exploring new places near and far from home.

Hamish gained his BDS from the University of Sheffield in 2019. Since graduating he has spent time in general practice and has worked in several hospitals working within the specialities of Restorative Dentistry and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Having grown up around Edinburgh, Hamish joined us at Duddingston Dental Practice in 2023 where he enjoys providing a range of general dental services to his patients.

Louisa graduated from the University of Edinburgh as a dual-qualified Dental Hygienist and Therapist. She spent time working in the Scottish Borders before returning to work in Edinburgh. Louisa joined the team in 2015 and works hard to deliver excellent care to every patient. Louisa will be happy to chat to you about your oral care routine and advise you where required. Louisa works full time with the practice given a wide availability of appointments.

Lisa joined the practice in 2011 providing dental hygiene care to our patients and runs clinics on a Monday and Wednesday. Lisa is keen to help you look after your mouth in the best way possible and will take the time to work with you to find the easiest way to do this. Lisa is also our Business Manager and runs things behind the scenes.
Outside of work Lisa enjoys being out and about with her young children and husband Stuart (our Principal Dentist) and loves baking!

Our fantastic nursing team are all experienced and will help to make your visits as comfortable as possible.
Vicki, Cara and Sharon make up our Front Desk Team. They are very dedicated, friendly and enthusiastic. They are always more than happy to help with any queries you may have about the practice.
